Do we Need a New Playbook for the Environment Ahead? These Questions Will Be Thoroughly Considered and Answered in this Month's TSAA-SF Members Meeting.
DESCRIPTION OF THE TALK:
Joe Turner returns to discuss the recent decline in the rate of inflation and whether the Federal Reserve Bank has tamed high and rising prices in the aftermath of the COVID Pandemic. Joe began his portfolio management career in the late 60’s just as the last cycle of rising inflationary conditions was getting started. In addition to being a very accomplished portfolio manager, with 55 years of experience, he is considered one of the foremost experts on business cycles.
Joe founded the Pring Turner Capital Group with Martin Pring, and is recently retired. He remains active with TSAA-SF, and has been a member since 1974. Notably, in 1979 Joe presented to the TSAA-SF ‘A Checklist for the End of Inflation’ just as inflation appeared to be raging hopelessly out of control. This was followed by 40 years of disinflation.
He joins Mike Jones and Bruce Fraser for the August Member’s meeting of the TSAA-SF, for an informal discussion about the present position of the business cycle, inflation, and what the future may hold for stock and bond markets.
