Consistency amidst Chaos:
Methods to Generate Consistent Returns in the Market
The markets have changed remarkably since the 1980’s when the speaker began his career on the floor of the Pacific Stock Exchange. Opportunities for identifying and profiting from market inefficiencies, almost without exception, dissipate over time. Chris believes the methodologies with the best long term efficacy remain centered upon identifying the consistently irrational behavior of market participants.
Chris will offer examples of price anomalies he consistently observes and how he trades them using short duration option strategies. He’ll also discuss the behavioral traits of forecasters who have historically outperformed their peers, and what qualities they have in common which contribute to their outstanding results.

Chief Investment Officer and Founder
Chris has been a securities trader for 31 years, beginning on the Pacific Stock Exchange first with Merrill Lynch, and later for Paine Webber. There he served as a Specialist on the trading floor making markets in NYSE issues such as Genentech and Boeing, and eventually co-managing trading operations. He subsequently started Dipsea Capital in 1995 and has been managing capital for a select group of clients for 21 years. During his tenure, his clients have never experienced a negative return year. He transitioned his operation to a hedge fund structure in July of 2015.
A scientist by training, his primary research interest is the application of behavioral finance models. He believes that price inefficiencies in the markets routinely present themselves as a function of participants’ predictably irrational behavior. Chris earned a Bachelors Degree in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Davis.
